Position: Controller

Job Description
PMB Helin Donovan's Controller is responsible for managing the ongoing financial operations of the firm, cash flow, accounts receivable billing and collections, supervising accounting staff and preparing reporting packages to the partners of the Firm.

Responsibilities

  • Managing billing and accounts receivable collections
  • In-depth review and preparation of Reporting Packages
  • Analyzing data for decision making and tracking performance progress
  • Delivery and discussion of Management Reporting Package with CFO and executive team
  • Forecasting, planning and analyzing business results
  • Staff and technology resource planning/management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Quickbooks
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience
  • 2-3 years managing staff
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Team player with a positive 'can do' approach
  • Experience in public accounting

Position: Full-time Audit Staff

PMB Helin Donovan's Audit Services business has a risk-based approach, experienced professionals, comprehensive methodologies, and technical resources. Our services combine competency and experience in the areas of financial reporting, risk management, and compliance.

The external audit services include:

  • Audits of Financial Statements, including reviews of quarterly financial information
  • Audits of internal control over financial reporting including Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404
  • Agreed Upon Procedure
  • Other attest related services

In conducting an external audit of clients' financial statements, PMB Helin Donovan holds itself to the standards of independence, professional objectivity, and technical excellence. The audit approach is designed to provide the flexibility to serve the unique circumstances of clients. The audit approach includes understanding a client's business, the risks it faces, its internal controls, and assess the risk of material misstatement of the financials in order to design effective audit procedures.

Audit staff develop an understanding of our audit approach, establish working relationship with client personnel, review client accounting and operating procedures along with internal controls, support audit engagements at various client sites and work both individually and in a team environment to support success of audit engagements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Eligible to sit for Certified Public Accountant (CPA Certification)
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills   
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels

Position: Full-time Audit Manager

Location: Austin, TX

The external audit services include:

  • Other attest related services

The managers within PMB Helin Donovan LLP oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple engagements and are involved with legal, regulatory, and accounting issues that arise during the audit engagement. Managers have responsibility for the supervision of staff and management of services to clients, which includes preparation of the audit strategy and business plans, setting and monitoring budgets, scheduling audits, selecting staff and assigning workloads, and financial reporting. They must develop and motivate their engagement staff and provide them with counseling and career guidance. Managers have control over, and exercise wide latitude and discretionary decision-making in establishing the most advantageous course of action for the successful management of each audit engagement. Managers must have deep technical experience. They provide leadership in the timely delivery of quality services that aim to exceed the expectations of clients.

  • 5-7 years of public accounting or equivalent experience
  • CPA is required
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (advanced degree is preferred)
  • A willingness to travel, if necessary

  • 3+ years of Public Accounting experience required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA Certification) is a plus, but must be eligible to sit for CPA exam
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
  • Advanced degree preferred
